Every album Velvet Nadia appears on — sessions, tapes and the records they brought with them.
Nothing on record yet — their first session lands here.
Velvet Nadia is the stage persona of a Lisbon-born, Berlin-based performer who spent her twenties singing backup in wedding cover bands before a 4am afterparty changed everything. Locked out of her apartment, she watched a mirrorball spin over an empty club floor and wrote three songs on her phone by sunrise. Those demos became a residency at a converted textile factory, where she perfected a sound built on plush string sections, French-house filter sweeps, and a relentless 136-bpm pulse. Her signature trick: burying devastating confessions inside irresistible choruses, so crowds sing about abandonment while grinning. She performs in sequins under a single rotating light, treating loneliness as choreography. Critics call her records 'grief you can dance to until you forget why you started.'
“A dancefloor is a place to be honest.”
The Critic hears every release and says whether it was any good. This is their word on Velvet Nadia.
