Josie Ryland grew up above her family's diner off a two-lane highway in Marble Falls, Texas, learning to sing over the hiss of the deep fryer and the jukebox in the corner. She spent her teens playing VFW halls and Friday-night bleachers before a phone-recorded chorus caught fire online and pulled her onto a national tour opening for acts twice her age. Now she headlines arenas she once watched on TV, homesick in a different city every night. Her songs marry truck-stop detail — cracked vinyl booths, flickering gas-station signs — to choruses built for twenty-thousand voices. Working with Nashville pop producers, she keeps her belt clean and her lyrics local, insisting the small town never gets sanded off the record, only lit brighter.
